Todays Meet
Todays Meet allows for online discussion without having a social media account. One note, if you are having a number of people participate, it may move too quickly and discussions are not threaded.
Here is the archive of Mr Putnam (@apgov216) and my students discussing President Obama's Syria Address live using Todays Meet.

Instagram
Instagram is a social media photo sharing site. I have found that my younger students are on here more so than Twitter. When you upload an image you can tag, comment, and include a hashtag. Students can also be given an assignment to upload an image and tag it with an unique class hashtag. You can then Storify the postings.
It also gives you the opportunity to share with the outside what is going on in your classroom, share student achievements, and build relationship with your students by establishing a class account.
